Process
The website was built using HTML and CSS. Images were taken on an iPhone, additional visual elements were created & edited using Adobe applications, audio components were recorded using iPhone voice memos and edited with Adobe Audition.
About
I have always been interested in the designs that make up everyday life, specifically how good design often goes unnoticed. This project was inspired by the proliferation of newer brands that subsbscribe to the same design aesthetic that includes sans-serif typography in their logos and advertisements, minimalist websites and simple store composition in the vein of contemporary design. The brands explored in this project are innovators in their own right in terms of brand mission and message, which, despite the similarities between brands in terms of design, communicate this uniqueness to the consumer through the aforementioned design aesthetic. This inquiry seeks to find the source of this design inspiration that typifies branding in the millennial age and explain the possibility it has to suit a variety of brands from lifestyle to fashion.
TL;DR
This project is a deep-dive into the historical background that led to our arrival at millennial minimalism.
